《Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg》是一款二战题材的作品，系统为玩家提供了六大关键性的战役从1939年的突袭波兰、1940年的攻占挪威、1941年俄国之战、1942年的斯大林格勒保卫战到1944年具转折意义的诺曼底登陆。除了这些主要的大战之外，还有一些小型战役，其中就包括库尔斯克战役、市场花园作战"(Operation Market Garden)和阿登战役(Battle of the Bulge)等五个。在游戏中，玩家将有幸选择30多个不同的国家，16种战术单元，其中就有伞兵、工兵、游击队和两栖登陆装备等等。
