美国加洲，洛杉矶SIGGRAPH 2005盛会第1529号展厅，NewTek有限公司，作为一家3D动画和视频产品的制造商，今天正式发布了LightWave 3D 9.0版本。NewTek开发人员重新编写和构建LightWave的内核，将网格编辑功能加入到Layout模式中，并增强Modeler模式中的工具；从Layout模式中提取渲染器，重新编写光线跟踪方法，使它具有更快速的算法；基于到摄像机的距离和可见性改写网格细分。Modeler的工具箱已经被升级使它具有实边，细分表面已经被重新启动来改善处理过程并支持多次细分。
